August is National Make-A-Will Month. For many busy Americans, this yearly reminder is just the motivation they need to finally sit down and create their last will and testament. And once they do, many find the process isn’t as long or tedious as they anticipated.

Creating or updating your will is a chance to take control of an uncertain future by making financial and real estate plans now, instead of leaving it up to others to decide when you are gone. Through a will, you can ensure that your finances and belongings are used the way you want them to be used. It's an opportunity to lock in support for your loved ones.

If charitable support is important to you, a will is a powerful way to cement your legacy of giving through a planned gift to charities like Academy of Holy Angels. Leaving a gift for a nonprofit in your will costs you nothing during your lifetime, but will ensure that you can make a positive impact on causes close to your heart for years to come.

We're pleased to share that AHA has teamed up with an organization called FreeWill to provide an online planning resource to everyone in our community, free of charge. HERE is a link to these free resources.

We hope you'll consider taking advantage of this opportunity. See how creating your will and legacy can build a bright future for yourself, your loved ones, and for charities like AHA.

If you choose to include AHA in your will, you will be joining over 100 other current members of the AHA Legacy Society. Collectively, these Legacy Society members are building the foundation of support AHA will need to serve students for generations to come through their planned gifts to the school.
